Meet John Hisey, M.A.
John is the founder and owner of Micron Audiology. John completed his undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Washington in 1971. A few months later, he purchased his first practice at the age of 23 and became the youngest hearing aid specialist in the state of Washington. He enjoyed working with patients but he felt he could help them even more if he furthered his education in the field of audiology. He completed his Master’s degree in Audiology at Western Washington University in 1980 and moved to the Wenatchee valley to work at the Eye and Ear Clinic. In 1983 he opened Micron Audiology and the business has been thriving ever since.
After nearly 50 years in hearing health care, John has recently retired. He is enjoying spending more time with his family and pursuing his many hobbies, including: farming, golfing, trail riding, and packing into high mountain lakes to fly fish. You still might see him at the office from time to time, as he fills in for vacations and performs maintenance on the building. He enjoys helping people as much today as he did when he began his first practice in 1971. His family would describe him as compassionate, eternally optimistic and hard working. When asked what has changed and what has remained the same over his career, John replied “We have dramatically more sophisticated tools at our disposal today but the thing that has remained the same is how we take care of our patients. Our patient-centered approach and follow-up care are what really set Micron Audiology apart.”
